During my time as the principal at TOW, we were constantly looking for ways to enhance our visual arts instruction by utilizing local resources. Kelly’s “Let’s Draw” program was an excellent supplement to the teacher’s instruction and she worked closely with the grade levels to find ways to link her lessons directly to their curriculum. From teaching 4th graders how to draw tall ships as they prepare for the Pilgrim to teach third-graders how to draw farm animals while reading Charlotte’s Web, Kelly and the teachers found creative ways to integrate visual arts instruction into their lessons.
