Let’s Draw is a lively observational sketching program utilizing drawing fundamentals, the elements of art, and the skills to develop a positive, effective inner critic and a continued practice in the arts.
The first series of lessons originated after witnessing a young child, in a light-filled studio surrounded by unlimited art supplies, become creatively paralyzed under their own self-criticism and the pressure to “draw well”. As an artist, I know how terrible that feeling can be. I realized I wanted to help with that frustration and try to keep kiddos from walking away from creativity.
Invited into classrooms as a creative resource for teachers during the school day, Ms. Kelly G incorporates sketching as a visual complement to the academic curriculum. Lessons provide meaningful creative practice using drawing techniques paired with artistic choice. An attitude of playful exploration provides an opportunity to normalize failed attempts and a culture of practice for progress and improvement.
Our mission is to promote visual literacy, creative resilience, and keep drawing fun!
