I’m currently obsessed with analog newspaper collage. Our lives play out amidst a shouting soundtrack of breaking news, information, and opinion. I build images from my daily routine using hand cut text and photographs from a single newspaper, my small moments woven into the day’s loudest political debates. My life becomes a lens into the most pressing issues, looking for where more than one thing can be true, limited to the available language and the weight of the reported word.
Each collage takes one issue, one day, one newspaper.
The news sometimes gets heavy, so occasionally, I paint suggestive fruit to balance my practice of black and white with some color.
