I create detailed hand-cut newspaper collages using inspiration from a specific day, with only materials from a single newspaper primed for a singular issue.I meticulously “paint with paper” sourcing finite cuttings of text, phrases, and typography, pasting found poetry onto the canvas. There are works within the work. Collage becomes a meditation, contemplating current events into artistic discourse by puzzling through available language to merge individual experience with broader societal conversations.
